Leadership Development and Competencies for 2025
NARPM has outlined key competencies for Board candidates to ensure they possess the necessary skills and vision for effective leadership. These competencies provide a framework for ongoing leadership development. Applicants for the board must hold at least one of these competencies to be considered.
• Political Advocacy Competency – Refers to a strong ability to participate and understand the political, legislative, and policy-making processes. This competency includes engaging with policymakers, government representatives, and stakeholders in a proactive manner to influence decisions.
• Future focused Change Management – The ability to anticipate and respond to emerging trends, innovations, and understand, and effectively embrace organizational change in the Property Management industry and within NARPM. Staying informed about developments within the industry and being able to provide insights and strategic direction on the future of property management.
• Business and Financial Literacy– The skills to lead effectively, applying leadership principles that inspire and guide others, and understanding the financial concepts that enable effective decision-making and financial planning. Leveraging experience from diverse organizational settings to inspire, guide, and influence teams, while driving NARPM goals and strategic initiative
• Marketing/Branding Knowledge – Understand effective marketing and branding strategies that elevate NARPM’s public image, drive its objectives, and support growth. Possess visionary thinking to identify marketing needs and to shape a cohesive brand identity.
